Children choir „Svitani“ was founded in September 1996. It became a part of a school of music in Prague, Smichov in 2008. Throughout its existence, the choir has performed a number of concerts both in the Czech Republic and abroad (e.g. Poland, Italy, Austria and Germany). Since the beginning of its existence, the choir has participated in many Czech and foreign competitions, in which it has won many awards - for example in 2012 the choir Svitani took part in the international festival Mundus Cantat Sopot, where it won a silver medal. Since 2006, the choir has also been organising its own choral competition Zahrada písní („The garden of songs“) in which over 30 choirs from all the Czech Republic participate each year. Since September 2010 concert choirs have been headed by Mgr. Tereza Bystricka.
She was born on 21st July 1972. She studied at the Charles University, College of education: music- choral conducting under the leadership of prof. Jiří Kolář. She specifically dedicated to singing education children and young people. She worked on Týnská higher school and Jan Kepler Secondary School in Prague. She is one of the conductors of the Kühn children Choir Prague and choirmaster of mixed chamber choir Leatitia Praha. She works as a voice teacher, too. She is invited as a member of the jury to many choral competition (e.g. Gymnasia Cantant, Porta Musicae). In children choir Svítání she conducts older preparatory choir “Svítáníčko” and a chamber choir “Svítání”.Back to the list of ensembles
