The origins of Cappella Musicale della Santa Casa go to the eight singers of the Basilica that have the beautiful work to do – celebration of the masses and singing at least one of them each day. It was founded in 1976 and with the arrival of father Giuliano Viabile as the organist of the Basilica in 1987 a choral group Corale Lauretana was established to serve during the masses and perform in concerts. In 2013 the group was renewed to again serve the purposes of the International Marian sanctuary in Loreto. The repertoire of the Cappella Musicale varies from the Renaissance period up to contemporary music. They have also performed some of the Masses composed by Maestro Viabile for the first time.
