Schedule:

Friday, May 18
Arrival of the participants.

6 pm - ceremonial holy mass for the openning of the Námestovo music festival (performance of participating choirs)

7 pm - festival openning concert (performances of participating choirs)

Saturday, May 19

 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. competition
2 p.m. - 5 p.m. boat trip on Orava Lake and visit of Island of Art
5 p.m. guest choir concert
6 p.m ceremonious mass
7 p.m. final concert of all participants, results of the competition
8 p.m. dinner for all choirs

Sunday, May 20
Morning – performances during mass in Catholic Church in nearby towns and villages
Departure.

Prizes:

1st place – 250EUR

2nd place – 200EUR

Evaluation:

International jury consists of the professionals in this sphere.
The decisions of the jury are beyond dispute.

Competition rules

• This competition is for amateur  choirs. Conductor of the choir can be the professional musician.

•  The application (including characteristics of the choir) to the competition must be issued by the organizer.

• The Music Festival Committee according to CD or tape will choose the choirs. The tape recording or the CD (15 min.) must be sent together with the application until January 30th, 2012 to the address:

•  The choirs will sing according to drawing lots without acoustic test

Obligatory compositions:

• Chorus from the period of Renaissance or Baroque
• Chorus from the period of Romanticism (19th Century)
• Works of your own choice

Duration: 15 minutes
2 compositions a capella are compulsory, the other program can by accompanied with piano for choirs

Conditions for participants

Transport

Transport will be at the charge of the choir participant.

Accommodation and Board

Each choir including the conductor, accompanying people and bus drivers shall pay its own travel expenses, expenses on accommodation and food.

Fee for each member

25Eur 1 person
Free board / Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sunday breakfast.
The fee must be paid one month before arrival.
