The beginnings of the Musica viva Kranj – Primskovo mixed choir go back to 1 January 1964 and this year it is celebrating its respectful jubilee – the anniversary of its continuous 70 years long singing tradition. In the jubilee year the choir has 36 singers who share their love for singing and enjoy being members of a homogeneous team in spite of their different professions and lifestyles. The choir sings a large variety of songs, ranging from Slovene and international folk songs to sacred and composed songs as well as the arrangements of national and foreign popular songs. Every year the choir attends various singing contests and/or regional competitions, it prepares different topical concerts along with its main annual evening concert, subsequently repeated on several locations in order to perform for broader audiences. Moreover, the choir tends to participate in a singing competition abroad every second year. In the last few years, the singers of the Musica viva Kranj – Primskovo mixed choir took part in the singing competitions in Prague, Bratislava, Verona and Olomouc where they always received important awards. The choir also tends to cooperate with various national and foreign singing choirs with whom it gives joint concerts at home and abroad. The choir has been making progress under the conduction of Mr. Aleš Gorjanc for six years.
Aleš Gorjanc was born in Kranj (Slovenia) in 1970. He completed the solo singing training course at the Music School of Kranj, which significantly influenced his further musical career. Ever since his student years he has cooperated with the best Slovene singing groups, either as a singer, a conductor or a coach. As member of various choirs he participated in different choral competitions all over Europe. He has been leading the Musica viva Kranj – Primskovo mixed choir since March 2010. Already from the very beginning he tried to work with the choir very systematically, paying a lot of attention to the singing technique that makes the choir improve in quality. His efforts are well reflected on the occasion of singing competitions where the choir is progressively winning better results and more favourable appraisals.Späť na zoznam súborov
