The folk music group Čečinka is the musical component of the children's folklore ensemble DFS Čečinka. The ensemble operates under the Jozef Kresánek Elementary School of Arts in Bratislava and celebrated its 45th anniversary last year. Throughout its existence, it has nurtured several generations of musicians who, after their time with DFS Čečinka, go on to join various artistic groups or pursue studies at conservatories and universities with a focus on music. In addition to performing in Slovakia, the ensemble also represents Slovak folklore on international stages – including the USA, Mexico, Hawaiian Islands, Turkey, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic. The current members of the folk music group are also students of the Elementary School of Arts and have been performing in this formation since September 2024. Their repertoire includes stylized orchestral arrangements from various Slovak regions, and they also accompany the dance and vocal groups of DFS Čečinka.
