The Banjaluka Serbian Singing Society “Jedinstvo” is one of the oldest cultural societies in the Republic of Srpska. Founded in 1893, it remained active until 1941 and was re-established in 1992 on the initiative of Protoiereus Stavrophore Ratko Radujković and Professor Nemanja Savić. Today, the society consists of a Mixed Choir and a Children’s Choir. Under the leadership of conductor Nemanja Savić, the Mixed Choir has developed an impressive international presence, performing throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and in numerous countries across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the USA. The choir gives around twenty performances each year, including concerts, liturgies, festivals, competitions, and major cultural events. It has also produced numerous radio and television programmes, ten independent albums, ten CDs, several DVDs, music videos, and documentaries, confirming its significant contribution to choral and cultural life.

Nemanja Savic

Conductor / Leader

Nemanja Savić, born in Banja Luka in 1957, is a distinguished conductor, composer, and music educator. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s studies in Conducting at the Faculty of Music of the University of Arts in Belgrade and is a full professor at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, where he teaches Choir and Choral Conducting. Alongside his academic career, he conducts several prominent ensembles, including the Mixed Choir of the Banjaluka Singing Society “Jedinstvo”, the Priest Choir of the Banja Luka Eparchy, and various women’s, men’s, and university choirs. As a conductor, he has performed extensively across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the USA and has received more than 40 first prizes at national and international choral competitions. He is also the author of several choral collections, vocalises, and numerous works for choirs, ensembles, and soloists, spanning a wide range of musical genres and performed both nationally and internationally.
