Sigulda Youth Wind Orchestra „Silversound” (Latvia) was founded in 1973 and is led by two conductors – Elmārs Rudzītis and Arnis Šmitiņš. Almost all members of the orchestra are students of Sigulda Art School „Baltais Flīģelis.” The orchestra represents Sigulda, one of the most beautiful towns in Latvia. „Silversound” regularly takes part in various competitions and festivals. The orchestra’s repertoire is very wide, ranging from academic music to modern contemporary pieces, which are loved by both musicians and audiences. Every year, "Silversound" creates a new défilé (marching band) program that combines elements of dance and marching. In 2022, „Silversound“ participated in the „XVI Brass Band Festival” in Mazeikiai, Lithuania, and one year later, the orchestra took part in the Toscana Music Festival in Italy. The young members of "Silversound" believe that participating in festivals and concerts gives them new experiences and friends, enhancing the joy of music and life.
