Črešnjevec is a village with beautiful landscapes, kind people, and a school of 176 pupils. Our school, Dr. Jože Pučnik Primary School Črešnjevec, stands proudly on top of a green hill, next to a charming cherry orchard where our pupils love to spend their time. Music is an important part of school life. Our pupils truly enjoy singing, and their wonderful young voices fill the halls through our children’s and youth choirs, both well-known and highly appreciated, just like their conductor, Mateja Kuharič. The choirs regularly perform at school events and in the local community. They firmly believe that music makes life brighter, easier, and happier. In the spring of 2025, our children’s choir took part in the regional competition and received a gold award. This great achievement inspired us to participate in an international choir competition. With this goal in mind, we formed a new choir that brings together both age groups. The singers in this ensemble range from 8 to 13 years old, and we have joined our forces to proudly perform in Bratislava. This is their first experience competing abroad, but we sincerely hope it will not be their last.
