The choir was established in 10th January, 1989 and is conducted by Ms. Lilik Sutiono since 1994. The members are selected from different classes, all are aiming at enhancing the overall standard as well as promoting the art of choral singing. Through regular and systematic practices, members have cultivated the ability of sight singing and music appreciation. The choir value both internal and external events. It has been not only taking part in the annual School Music Festival which received much admiration, but also becoming more active in the Macau Inter-School Singing Competition in recent years, and has attained the Distinction honour on many occasions. It is certainly a remarkable reward to their efforts as all the members are directed to a mutual target of bringing out the beauty of choral music on the stage. The choir gains the reputation in a list of past performances. In December 2004, the School Choir worked with the Macao Melody Orchestra and Encore Percussion Ensemble in the Concert commemorating the 5th Anniversary of the Handover of Macau to China. In 2008, the choir was invited to take part in “2008 Hong Kong International Youth & Children’s Choir Festival”, and has attained the Silver Class Award. In 2012, the choir has participated in the Asia Cantate International Choral Festival 2012, and has won the Golden Prize in the singing contest. In 2017, They were also invited to perform in the 3rd School Orchestra Festival of Four Regions Across The Straits in Hong Kong. This year, they have performed in the “2nd Shenzhen x Hong Kong x Macao Art & Culture Exchange Festival” in Shenzhen.
Miss Sutiono was graduated in the South China Normal University, major in Music Education. She is also the holder of the Instrumental Education Certificate of Royal Academy of Music. Miss Sutiono has 25 years experience in piano teaching and music education. She was the conductor and instructor of Fringe Club Children’s Choir during 1995-1997. Since 1993 she has taken the role of music panel and choir conductor of Sacred Heart Canossian College Macau. In 1996, she became the Director of Macau Youth Symphonic Orchestra Association, and founded the "Muse Choir" in 2004. She acts as the part-time piano lecturer of Music Education Undergraduate Programme in School of Arts, Macau Polytechnic Institute during 2006-2012. From 2009 onwards, she is the President of Macau Music Tutors Association.
